San Francisco

Cityscape view

Just filling the void a bit with this quick post, as I did not have a lot of time lately. This is another view from the top of the San Francisco Hilton. In the distance you can see the Golden Gate bridge. Since the opening of the bridge in 1937, around 1203 people committed suicide by jumping of the bridge. Steepness and photography

Steepness does not translate well to pictures. The steepest street in San Francisco is Filbert Street between Hyde and Leavenworth and is 31.5 degrees. The street you see in the picture has a steepness degree of about 25 percent, but in the picture it looks like 5 percent tops. The only way you can see the street is really steep, is by looking at the cars. All of the cars have their front wheels turned, which would cause them to rotate instead of heading straight towards Alcatraz in case of their hand brakes failing or such... Leavenworth Street

Cityscape Dining

When you're in San Francisco and feel like a more extensive dinner, one place that's definitely worth it is the Cityscape Restaurant in the San Francisco Hilton near Union Square. Prices for a main course range from 25$ to 35$, which is still quite acceptable if you look at the view you're getting from the restaurant. The restaurant is located at the 46th floor, which is the top of the Hilton. At this time, due to renovations, the breakfast of the Hilton is also located at the Cityscape Restaurant. This will cost you 25$ for an all you can eat breakfast buffet, drinks included. Cityscape Dining

Oh well, maybe you already grew tired of seeing sunny SFO shots, so this might show a different view :) Of course, no trip to San Francisco would be complete without a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge. So, here's my try at that :) Escape from...
