Read more...This will be my last post about Yellowstone. I'm sure Kris will post some Yellowstone pictures later on, but this is it for my pictures. There are quite a few really good wildlife spotting opportunities in Yellowstone and we focused on two of them. Spots that are very easily accessible with a vehicle, so you don't have to do any back country hiking (considering that we had Grizzly with us, we wouldn't have been able to do any hiking anyway). There's Lamar Valley, which is located in the remote northeast section of the park between Tower Junction and the Cooke City entrance. Lamar is perfect for viewing...
Read more...We left on a Friday after work, our first stop was Leavenworth. Leavenworth is a charming little town in Chelan County, Washington. What makes this city special you wonder? Well, the entire town center is modelled on a Bavarian village. They even have a nutcracker Museum. While we were visiting, the town was celebrating Oktoberfest. The funny thing is that it's actually claimed to be one of the most attended in the world outside Munich, Germany. Not sure if that's true though so don't quote me on it. I know it sounds cheesy, but we actually quite liked it. We'll definitely be back, we really...
Read more...It's about time this blog got updated:) We've had a lot of visitors over the last few months and more to come. On top of that there's also the fact that we've been working a lot (well mainly Kris actually). But anyway, sorry for the lack of updates. Today was one of the warmest days we've had this summer, and what's better than spending a hot day in the snow: a mini road trip to Mount Baker. There's still too much snow, so you can't drive all the way up. Instead we decided to hike up the last part of the mountain. We didn't get quite as far as Artist Point (no snowshoes and definitely didn't...

I guess this means we urgently need to start planning our next big trip... First light falls illuminates the Hecata Head Lighthouse on the Oregon Coast. The lens of the lighthouse must have been the inspiration for the eye of Sauron in Lord of the Rings... Early morning at Cape Perpetua on the Oregon Coast. Yaquina Head Lighthouse Sunset at the appropriately named Sunset Beach on the Oregon Coast. Hope you like them!

We definitely want to thank our parents and brother and sister for accommodating us! We know it wasn't always easy, just because we had so many things planned, but you guys did everything you could to make sure everything went as smooth as possible. Sorry for those that we didn't get to see, hopefully next time! Not a lot of text this time, just some pictures of our visit to Belgium: Brugge Activia Walk Bruggse Garre Lieve...

Bear Cake After having a great birthday, it was time to participate in Harry's Spring Run Off and I did remarkably better than expected. I actually had a pretty bad cold so I was afraid it would be a major disappointment but that wasn't the case. I took all my vitamins on Sunday morning, made sure I had a proper "runner's breakfast" and I was good to go. Turned out it was a beautiful day in Vancouver! Even though I was really nervous, never thought I would say this, but it was totally fine and I signed up for my next...
Read more...I mentioned in one of the previous posts that my goal for this year is to run the distance of a half marathon (21.1 km, or about 13.1 miles). Not sure if that's every going to happen, but I'm off to a good start! In September 2010 I decided to take a 12 week running clinic which helped me work my way up to running 30 minutes. I really liked the clinic, so thanks to Runner's Den to help me! After the clinic, I wasn't really sure how to proceed (just because I didn't really have a schedule to work with anymore) so I decided to register myself for a race. That gave me enough motivation to keep...
Read more...We woke up this morning, and Port Moody was covered with snow. It was so nice! It's starting to rain now, so I'm sure the snow will be gone by tonight, but we definitely had a great morning. I went for a walk with Grizzly around 6:00am. After breakfast, Kris and I decided to go out again and take grizzly to a nearby field where he could go off leash and play. There were so many kids sledding down the hill and of course tons of other dogs playing in the snow. And last but not least we went for a small hike further up the mountain. Below some pictures. Home Entrance to our complex. On our 6:00...
