Whistler

Both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain were open this weekend, so we decided to go up for the day and enjoy our first snowboarding day of the season.

We left really early in the morning and our drive up until Squamish was fine, but heading further north wasn’t great when it came to driving conditions. Heading into Cheakamus Canyon we were confronted with total whiteout conditions. We saw a car in the ditch and the car in front of us started skidding. So we had a pretty challenging drive.

We were ready to head up the mountain around 8:30am, so we got an early start. It looked very cloudy and snowy but it started clearing out really fast!

Below some pictures of our day on the mountain. They were taken with my small camera, so quality isn't the best.

Need I say more?

Bear (I know bad picture), love the statue though!

Grizzly spend his day at Cheakamus Doggie Den. It is a new doggie day care in Whistler. We were so happy to hear they were opening. It’s wonderful to have them taking care of him all day, when we’re on the mountain. They have a really spacious area for the dogs to play and they take the dogs out for a half hour walk during the day. I have to say, Cari and her team did an amazing job! We’ll definitely go back.

Below a picture of Grizzly, napping while driving home. He was exhausted (which was good for us, since we were too!)
