Dress up

We are going to a party next week and it’s with a red carpet so we kinda need to dress up. So what does this mean:
Men need to wear a two piece suit. For our event, a suit or dress slacks & a tailored jacket with a tie is encouraged.
For women, a cocktail dress, dressy pantsuit or evening wear, usually with heels, are all great options.

Problem one: Kris has a suit, but no shoes that match the suit. Either he buys new shoes or he buys a new suit. Both expensive options.
Problem two: I have no cocktail dress, no pantsuit and well maybe some evening wear… but definitely no heels…

I got heels but I accidentally left them in Belgium, sending them over with dhl is too late, so I do not only need to by new shoes, but I need to buy shoes with heels… (and maybe a cocktail dress: AS IF…)

People who know me, know that I don’t wear cocktail dresses and definitely no heels…

So we both don’t know what to wear, but at least we now have plans for the weekend: shop till we drop… And we will probably drop before we shop…

Positive thing of this all: I will have my first “red carpet” experience…

PS: Mom why didn’t you push me into bringing those high heel shoes with me…? :) (just kidding)
Now I have a reason to finally buy some sandals with little diamonds on it… Yeaaaah

Fancy, fancy! I think you'd go well in a pantsuit. Tip for the heels: try on A LOT of pairs. There's a really good chance that the heels will get uncomfortable when you wear them several hours, but you should make sure that they at least fit really well when you try them on. That reduces the risk of sore feet a bit. Oh yeah, choose shoes with a wide (instead of narrow and/or pointy) heel: that's better to find your balance and again reduces the chance of sore feet! :-) (Oh well, probably you know all this, but at least now I had a bit more to write than "fancy, fancy" :-))

Sportschoenen onder een kostuum? Jesus Christ mate, were you born in a barn? ;) Kris: go out and buy crocodile boots! Boots go under suits! The rhyme proves my point!

Johan and Fabrice: pictures, In your dreams:) Johan: Enjoy the Grand Bleu, I'm so jealous! Tanja: Thanks for the tips, but I have to tell you a secret: I bought high heels but not with a wide heel...:) I thought, well I will suffer anyway, wide heel or not, so let's go for it:) Oli: No way, geen cocktail druk, en die adidaskes, totally agree, but Kris will go for the boots. Now he has an excuse. David: adidaskes onder een kostuum is so totally done. Depends alleen wie het doet.:)

Tanja: Yup boots go under suits, so we decided that we will probably buy new boots, so they actually fit under the suit he has. And Tanja I will probably go for the pantsuit, or maybe a skirt, not sure yet:)

"David: adidaskes onder een kostuum is so totally done. Depends alleen wie het doet.:)" Totally done? In welk milieu? Idiote tieners? Het is geen zicht. En laat dat het laatste zijn dat ik erover zal zeggen. Straks gaan we nog witte kousen dragen.
