The Market of Bruges

Yesterday evening, not feeling like spending the evening sitting in front of the television, we decided on a quick evening visit to Bruges, which is a 60 kilometers (+-38 miles) drive. Bruges is probably one of the most famous cities of Belgium due to its historic center and medieval architecture and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This picture shows the market of Bruges with the statue of Jan Breydel and Pieter de Coninck, two leaders of the Battle of the Golden Spurs which took place on the 11th of July 1302, and the Provincial court in the background.
