Where I come from

I’ve been listening a bit too much to country music at work lately, especially “Where I come from” – Alan Jackson, which inspired me to take a picture of the building I live in. After several unsuccessful tries (cars passing by) I finally managed to get 3 exposures to combine to HDR. The only mistake I made was to, without my knowing, include part of myself and my tripod in the picture…

Where I come from

The symbol you see on the building is a Native American symbol called “Kokopelli“, which has many different and strange meanings…

I first encountered this symbol in Moab, Utah where I bought a Kokopelli key chain which I gave to my wife at the start of our relationship. Several years later, when searching for a new apartment near Ghent, Belgium, we stumbled on this apartment, considered it destiny and rented the apartment. Some months later we used the Kokopelli on our wedding invitations. I wonder where Kokopelli will turn up next…
